Guidance in

The maternity period

After the birth, we come to your home several more times. We consult with the maternity assistant, think about any questions you may have and offer support, where necessary.

Even if you were under the care of the hospital during pregnancy or delivery, we will come to your home in the postpartum period.

Breastfeeding and bottle feeding

It is always up to you to decide what food to feed your baby. We will support you in whatever choice you make.

Know that breastfeeding has several health benefits for your child.

Breastfed babies are less likely to suffer from allergies, diabetes, obesity or high blood pressure later on.

To make an informed choice, it is good to read up on the differences between breast and bottle feeding. Below are some useful websites and information evenings you can attend during pregnancy about breastfeeding:

Recovery after giving birth

After giving birth, your body immediately starts recovering to get back to a non-pregnant state, a process we call 'de-pregnancy'.

This recovery can vary in duration, depending on several factors. For instance, recovery after a caesarean section usually takes longer than after a vaginal delivery.

Give yourself the time you need and support your body by taking good care of yourself. Look here for more information

Post-check

About 6 weeks after giving birth, you are welcome to come to us for a follow-up check-up. During the check-up, we look back on your pregnancy, labour and postpartum period.

We are curious about your recovery and how you experienced everything. There is also room to ask questions and discuss issues such as contraception again.
